Create an acrostic piece of poetry using one or both of the following prompts. (You can use single words or create a running sentences acrostic poem).

Making music using body percussion

Head, shoulders, knees and toes, knees and toes, knees and toes. Music starts with just us. We are all a musical instruments. We know this but we don't often think about it and ourselves in this way. It is incredible how sophisticated this music can be. Check out these videos of people creating music using their bodies.

 

Challenge: Can you learn the whole desktop drumming routine off by heart? 
Be inspired: Individually or as a group you could develop an independent learning project based around body percussion. Got any ideas?

Your Song

Your task is to choose your song. This song MUST reflect YOU or a significant moment in your life. As this is a school setting, lyrics must be appropriate. 

You will prepare a written and visual presentation based on your chosen song to explain all about it. You will use this to support you to speak to an audience about your song.

To Start - Organise a copy of the words of your song to share with your audience. Before listening, explain:'

• The name of the song.
• The name of the performer.
• What was the album/vehicle of its release.
• How does the song relate to other songs on the album etc., (what was occurring in the writers/singers life)?
• Why it is important to you?
• Are your circumstances similar to that of the writer/singer?
• How did you come across this song and how did it link into your life.
# Remember to collect your information and image source references. You are will need to present a bibliography with this assignment.

To Finalise - Play the song aloud for your audience and explain: 

• What particular lines in the song resonate with you?
• What is your overall impression of the song?
• Answer questions about the song/event

Preparing to write and create my presentation

Learning Intention: I will go through the processes needed to prepare myself to be able write my music project up in my own words.

# It is a good song to listen when you are down or going through a hard time, a good song to listen to when you feel like everything has changed direction or have a feeling inside that you feel like nothing
